The Lotus Philosophy: A Different Approach to Estate Planning in North Carolina

The lotus flower grows in muddy water – and yet it rises, blooms, and remains untouched by the harshness of its surroundings. Across many cultures, including mine, the lotus is a symbol of quiet strength, integrity, and peace.

That is the spirit behind Lotus Legacy Law, my estate planning practice in Cary, North Carolina.

A Different Approach to Estate Planning

My favorite part of practicing law is the human connection. I enjoy getting to know my clients beyond their legal needs. A conversation about the weekend, a shared laugh, or a personal anecdote can be just as important to the planning process as a list of assets and accounts. My background in disability advocacy and regulatory work taught me the importance of listening thoughtfully and approaching each client with both empathy and analytical thinking. Every family has a story worth understanding, and the more I learn about yours, the better equipped I am to help you create an estate plan that aligns with your situation.

Flat-Fee Estate Planning Pricing

No one likes surprises, especially when it comes to legal fees. That’s why I don’t charge by the hour. You’ll know the full flat-fee cost of your estate plan before any work begins, and any changes will be communicated clearly in advance.

Personalized Planning

No two families are exactly alike, and your estate plan should reflect that. There are many questions that need to be asked before drafting your will, trust, or powers of attorney begins. I want to make sure that not only do I ask questions, but that I ask the right questions. Once your documents are drafted, you’ll have the opportunity to review everything and request changes before anything is finalized. The result is a plan designed around your family and your wishes, not a one-size-fits-all template.

Virtual or In-Person Estate Planning Across North Carolina

Life is busy, and estate planning shouldn’t be a source of stress or inconvenience. With Lotus Legacy Law, distance from the office won’t prevent you from getting your planning needs met. From initial consultation through final signing, you have the option of getting things done virtually, in person at our Cary office, or both. Meet by phone or video, review and e-sign documents online, and arrange in-home signing with a notary and witnesses if you can’t travel, wherever you are in North Carolina.

Full Transparency

Honesty builds trust. My role is to help you make informed decisions, not to convince you to go with the most expensive plan. If a complex trust isn’t the right solution for your family situation, I will tell you. On the other hand, if the plan you have in mind doesn’t sufficiently meet your needs, I will also tell you. No sales pitch, no upselling..

In Estate Planning, LOTUS means:

Love your family by planning for what matters most..

Organize your affairs so your family is not left overwhelmed.

Trust the plan you choose, whether it’s will-based or trust-based.

Understand what your plan means and how it works.

Secure peace of mind for yourself and your loved ones.
